WAKING UP IS HARD

August 13, 2012

The first thought that ran through my head this morning when my alarm went off was, “who sets an alarm on Sunday morning?!” As I rolled over to hit the snooze button, it occurred to me that it was, in fact, Monday morning. #fail So here I am at work, instead of lazily lounging in my comfortable bed. What happened to the weekend? Skylar was in LA visiting her brother so I was home alone. I occupied myself by refinishing a dresser that I bought last weekend at a garage sale for $30 (score!), reading, and generally being a lazy son-of-a-gun. Suffice it to say, it was wonderful. But like always, it was over too soon.

After not waking up to run this morning, I felt like kind of a schmuck so I decided to jot down a quick workout schedule for the week. If I don’t have something written down, it’s like it doesn’t exist. In order to keep myself accountable, I need something I can check off. And on that note, here is my plan for the week:

Monday- circuit
Tuesday- run + circuit
Wednesday- run + yoga
Thursday- restorative yoga (aka- best day of the week)
Friday- run
Saturday- hike
Sunday- rest

This is the week of creating good habits! Who’s with me?!

post-race sunset yoga on the beach? sign me up!
I was inspired this weekend to get serious about running again after seeing all the tweets and pictures online about the Seawheeze half-marathon in Vancouver. It looked like the most funnest (yep, I said it) race ever and was a good kick in the butt to get my butt in shape. Next year, I’m going to run it. I need an excuse to visit Vancouver anyway.

Happy Monday!
